Janice Webber – Artist, Visionary, and Creative Explorer
Janice Webber is an eclectic, multi-disciplinary artist whose work blends painting, photography, and pottery to capture the essence of the world around her. Each medium offers a unique voice in her creative process, making it impossible to choose just one as her favorite.
"Each medium brings something different to my art. I never know exactly how a piece will come together until it’s finished—there’s always an element of discovery", she shares.
From a young age, Janice was drawn to capturing the world’s beauty. She carried a small pouch filled with essentials—paper, pencil, and eraser—ready to sketch and record the details of life unfolding around her. That deep curiosity remains at the heart of her artistic journey.
The Creative Process & Mediums
For Janice, art is more than technique—it’s an exploration of energy, emotion, and transformation. Whether she’s layering textures, playing with transparency, or capturing light, each medium influences the next, shaping her artistic perspective.
Watercolor – She loves its luminous transparency and phenomenal light effects.
Oil – Brings richness and texture, adding a deep, immersive quality to her work.
Acrylic & Encaustic – Make layering an intriguing, evolving process.
Photography – Serves as both inspiration and a tool, allowing her to capture moments she may later expand upon in paintings or pottery.
A Journey Back to Art & Entrepreneurship
In 2019, Janice took back her personal power and launched her own art business, fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a full-time artist. Her work has since been recognized in Fusion Art and exhibited in various art shows.
She is an active member of the Dartmouth Visual Arts Society (2006–2023), Contemporary Art Society (since 2018), Association of Atlantic Area Artists (since 2018), and joined the Photographic Guild of Nova Scotia in 2020.
Art with Purpose: Saving the Ocean Through Creativity
Janice’s work is more than artistic expression—it’s a call to action. Inspired by the ocean’s beauty and fragility, she uses her art to raise awareness and support conservation efforts. Her gallery and shop offer original paintings, photographs, and pottery for sale, with proceeds helping to protect marine life.
In addition to her art, Janice has expanded her offerings to include coaching and memberships through her "Becoming Whole" and "The I’s Have It" programs—guiding others on their own journeys of creative and personal transformation.
